Competetion for London Festival of Architecture - Stage 2.

Collaboration with Lemonot and Rain Wu

For this competition, we wanted to examine city markets (From Queen’s market in Newham, Woodgrange Market in Forest Gate, Ridley Road Market in Dalston to what remains of Smithfield in proximity to Farringdon Station and many others) as a site and use food as the medium to create happenings to collect and narrate common experiences of vendors and local residents into social and artistic forms of gathering. Through unconventional gastronomic assemblages, we will initiate participatory practices and independent micro-economies. We envision operating devices both in Smithfields and the relocated sites in East London, to look into the past, present and future of city markets to seek our future adaptation.

Fridghero is an itinerant cart that would have constructed a system between two existing food sharing platforms; Olio and Hub Bub
